The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) is the largest, national client that serves to provide education and advocacy for the multidisciplinary team. We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn!
The Accounting Assistant will report directly to the Senior Accountant, and will perform a variety of routine accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable for the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), and the State Societies.
S/he will execute accounts payable duties to include reviews of disbursement transactions for properly authorized signatures, supporting documents, and coding. Resolve discrepancies with appropriate staff. Code invoices for proper account allocation. Process invoices/check requests in Microsoft Dynamics and Quickbooks. Process and disburse accounts payable checks to ensure vendors are paid on a timely basis. Ensure that incorrect or double payments are not made. Process in house checks for the State Societies. Prepare e-mail and memo communications to State Society Treasurers. Complete credit applications for setting up "Net 30" accounts.
Account receivable duties include the preparation of bank deposits. Recording of cash receipts and other electronic receipts into Microsoft Dynamics and Quickbooks. Process and record incoming credit card payments. In addition, the Accounting Assistant will maintain and update bank signature cards. Distribute W-9 tax forms as requested by vendors/members or staff. Prepare and distribute Form 1099 to speakers and Form 1086 to the IRS. Manage correspondence with vendors regarding accounting issues. Cross train to provide back up to the other Accounting Assistant. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Senior Accountant, Controller and/or the Vice President. Participate in staff functions to include CORE Group, staff meetings, and Association Management meetings.
