Must Be able to pass AWS D17.1M:2010 GTAW weld certification test in the 2G and 3G positions on the following metals:. 6061T6 .063 and .125 aluminum plates and/or 17.7PH Stainless Steel .050 and .030 and 625 Inconel .050 and .030.
Apprentice welder will have a Senior Weldor or lower as a trainer for 1 year of apprenticeship after passing AWS D17.1M:2010 GTAW weld certification test in the 2G and 3G positions on the following metals:. 6061T6 .063 and .125 aluminum plates and/or 17.7PH Stainless Steel .050 and .030 and 625 Inconel .050 and .030.
Typical Job Duties:
Adjustment, usage and heat source control of GTAW welding machine and associated equipment in a proficient manner
Learn applicable drawings, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and Engineering Processes (EP) required for part assembly and understanding with limited supervision.
Fitting up part for welding with supervision
Welding of aviation parts and processing for leak detection
Complete intermittent part repairs as needed, while continuing assembly of assigned parts during shift
Assure prior operations are complete and document competition of current task on work order.
Scan all work order in the Pentagon system
